봉수골 곳곳에 꽃들이 고개를 내미는 5월 , <바닷마을 책방 이야기> 출간을 기념해 치앙마이래빗님의 드로잉 클래스가 열렸습니다. <바닷마을 책방 이야기>는 실제 인물들을 모델로 그려졌는데, 이번 클래스는 '나'를 관찰해서 나만의 캐릭터를 만들어보는 시간이었어요.
작가님의 '래빗' 캐릭터는 치앙마이에서 힘든 시절을 보낼 때 탄생했다고 해요. 캐릭터를 만든 후 캐릭터가 작가님에게 힘을 주었다고 합니다. 그림을 잘 그리는 일보다 캐릭터를 만들기 위해 본인을 관찰하는 순간이 중요하는 말씀도 해주셨는데요. ^^
