어제 저녁 가을 여행 뮤직 북토크는 미술관 가득 울린 이은철 뮤지션님의 부드러운 목소리와 통기타 소리로 시작했습니다. 노래에서 노래로 이어지는 짠한 연애 스토리는 절대 뮤지션 본인의 이야기는 아니며 상상의 결과라고 강조하셨지요. ^^
이어진 김연수 작가님의 북토크는 "왜 여행 책에 통영 이야기가 없는가"에 대한 대답으로 시작했습니다. 소설 <파도가 바다의 일이라면>의 배경 '진남'과 단편 <우는 시늉을 하네>는 모두 통영을 염두하고 쓴 소설이라는 사실, 충렬사에서 백석을 생각하며 털썩 주저앉아본 이야기도 들려주시고 통영은 제 2의 고향... 이라는 말씀까지 하셨습니다. ^^
'소설은 제 적성에 안맞습니다', '여행을 할 때 3가지 원칙이 있습니다', '이야기에는 사람을 구원하는 힘이 있습니다'. 어제는 <언젠가, 아마도> 책 자체보다 여행, 소설, 이야기에 대한 작가님의 생각을 들어보는 시간이었어요. 유쾌한 이야기와 진지한 고민을 나누는 질의와 사인회까지 알찬 밤이었습니다. 함께해주신 분들 모두 감사하고 아쉽게 참여하지 못하신 분들 다음에 꼭 함께해요!!
